  • All the cities need to do is charge a fee. Let's say two tiers, one level for a short daylight protest of some fixed length and the second tier to camp overnight. If you don't pay the fee then you get locked up until you pay up. And then pay an additional daily fee to cover the costs to jail you.

  • The problem isn't what she did. The problem is the mandatory sentencing law the state legislators enacted. I'm sure if it was up to the judge the woman would have just gotten a couple of years which might have meant a few months in the slammer after time already served and or good behavior.

  • 20 years is ridiculous. The woman should not have done what she did but the sentence is just sick. These kinds of sentencing laws make taxpayers the victims as well, now being on the hook to take care of her until she gets out of prison.

  • Left my iPhone on a Southwest flight from Vegas to Burbank. Realized when I got back to my car and tried to make a phone call. Meanwhile the plane had already departed to it's next destination, Phoenix.

  • This story's been pretty much debunked as overly optimistic stock analytics. The numbers from Apple's overall business overall was very good. iPhone 4 sales fell leading into the release of 4S... duh... iPhone 4S is already selling record units.

  • You bet your a$$ I change my order. Went into a Panda Express last week. Started to order Bejing Beef. Saw it was over 800 calories a serving... plus the rice and other side dish on top of that. The Kobari beef was just over 200 cal.
